Uncommon is a Youth Church for middle and high school students and is the student ministry of Xenia Naz. We are students who know we are part of a story. We are part of the story GOD is writing. He has used our past to shape us, made us fully alive to live in the moment today, and put BIG dreams in us for the future! We walk each day taking each step toward the person, who is Jesus.
Collab
Collab as a network of churches, campus groups, organizations and ministries. Collab events are led by ministry leaders from local churches and ministries. These events are led by approved adults and ministry leaders who have been background checked and approved by their church and/or ministry organization.
UYC students are invited and encouraged to attend any and all Collab events.
Currently, we have Collab Nights in the Xenia Community Center on the first Sunday night of each month in addition to local Bible studies at AIA, and special events throughout the year.
UYC Sunday Mornings Breakfast Edition | Every Sunday Morning
UYC Breakfast Edition happens in the Fireside Room in the main church building on Sunday mornings at 9:00 AM! All are welcome to join! We begin the morning connecting with one another over breakfast followed by a teaching from Pastor Nate. Then, we split into groups, middle and high school. Our group time helps move students closer to Jesus, one step at a time, by allowing them to review God’s Word; reveal His Truth; revive their spirits; and preparing them for life.
UYC CREWS
Our top priority is making sure your every student is cared for and connected to the UYC family. We’ve designed CREWS to be smaller groups of students led by adult leaders. Our CREWS will connect through group texts threads and/or social media tools like GroupMe or Marco Polo. We have selected leaders (all background checked and trained) who have a heart to come alongside students as they grow in their faith Jesus, purpose, and readiness for life.
What you can expect from CREWS: Weekly Connection // CREWS will communicate with each other weekly through one of the digital mediums mentioned. Get Togethers // CREWS will frequently plan in person connection times in someone’s home, an entertainment venue, or restaurant. Each one of our CREWS will collectively decide on the time, places, and frequency of their get togethers. Belonging // CREWS provide students with a unique opportunity to be known, loved, and cared for. In the same way, they will have the opportunity to learn what its means to be a part of a caring Church community. The goal is for CREWS to stay the same over time while adding new students into each group and even creating new groups as we go. For example, we want every student to invite their friend. This means, when students invite a friend to connect with UYC, they’ll automatically be assigned to the same CREW as the student who invited them. We’re continually working to ensure every students has is placed in one of our CREWS.
